STScI

New professional publication with STScI

Work at Teide

Seven years ago, the STScI, in collaboration with professional astronomers, carried out a long-term observation campaign at the Teide Observatory in Tenerife (three STScI members were observing on site). Several school children and their teacher as well as amateur and professional astronomers participated at several observatories including the largest telescope in the world at that time. The now published results are the second part of a publication series (the first part can be found here). A general description of the activities on the mountain can be found here. The work proves that even school children can successfully perform spectroscopic measurements that can be used for research.
