It’s good to have professionals in the team. The controller for our large dome and its slit must be renewed and brought up to modern standards. Our association members Jonathan Eichner and Gerrit Grutzeck have done that. Control and dome slip rings are electrically isolated by a DC/DC converter for the transmission of the digital signals. The controller is protected against various malfunctions. The colleagues are currently discussing a possible wireless connection to the control room.
